Beirut, Bourj Hammoud district, 1970
Beirut, Bourj Hammoud district, 1970. Bourj Hammoud is the “little Armenia” of Beirut. More than 100 years ago Armenians who had survived the genocide in the Ottoman Empire settled here, and today their descendants live here.
The photograph shows a shopping street with shop signs and awnings. Men and women walk along the pavements and the street, and cars are parked on the right.
