Interior of Holy Etchmiadzin

Interior of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Holy Etchmiadzin is a monastic complex and the spiritual and administrative centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church. It was the seat of the Catholicos of All Armenians in 303–484 and has been again since 1441. The complex is in the town of Vagharshapat in the Armavir Province of Armenia.

The picture shows the inside of the dome with its ring of windows and the arches beneath it. The walls, arches and dome are covered with coloured floral and geometric ornament.
