Saint Hakob Monastery in Hajin in 1915 and 2021

The Armenian monastery of Saint Hakob is located in Armenian Cilicia, in Hajin, and dates from the 11th century.

The image is made up of two photographs marked “1915” and “2021”. The upper one shows the monastery buildings on a slope: tiled roofs, a building with arched openings and a long wing with many windows. A large group of people walks in a line up the slope beside the buildings. In the lower photograph only the ruins of stone walls and three arches remain, with a modern town in the background.
