First-grade class of the Aykazyan school in Tehran
The photograph shows the Armenian pupils of the first grade of the Aykazyan school in Tehran, together with their teacher.
The boys and girls stand in several rows, with the teacher in the middle. Most of the girls wear white dresses, some trimmed with embroidered borders. Some of the boys wear shirts with sailor collars.
This picture shows that even in difficult times the Armenian community regarded education and the shaping of the next generation as a priority.
