Easter ceremony at the Armenian monastery in Jerusalem

The photograph shows the Easter ceremony of the Armenian community at the Armenian monastery in Jerusalem. People have gathered in the church courtyard to take part in the communal prayer and the ritual procession. Armenian clergy lead the ceremony, while the faithful stand together.

This is a stereoscopic card with two almost identical images. In the paved courtyard one can see clergy in liturgical vestments, a large crowd and a ritual banner fixed to a pole. An image decorated with a cross hangs on the wall.
