Portrait of an Armenian woman, Hammarstedt collection

Portrait of an Armenian woman from the collection of N. E. Hammarstedt (1861–1939), kept in the Ethnographic Museum, Sweden.

The young woman wears a headdress richly decorated with metal ornaments and long pendant earrings. Necklaces and round ornaments cover her neck and chest, and she wears bracelets and rings. A dark veil falls from her head to her shoulders, and she is dressed in a patterned robe. The number “0719.0021” is in the lower corner.
