An Armenian woman from Shamakhi.

The young woman is photographed in traditional dress, with a headband covered in metal ornaments and a long white veil. On her chest are many strands of coins and beads, a large round ornament and a small cross. Her dark outer garment is edged with patterned bands, she wears bracelets on her wrists and holds a string of beads in her hands. In the lower left corner there is a Russian inscription meaning “Woman of Shamakhi”.
