Ani Cathedral from the south-east

The Irish geographer, traveller and member of the English Parliament Henry Lynch made two journeys across the Armenian Highlands in 1893–1898 and then wrote his fundamental work “Armenia”.

The picture is a printed page captioned in English “Fig. 72. Ani: The Cathedral from South-East.” It shows a stone building with arched recesses and narrow windows in its walls. Part of the roof has collapsed, and heaps of stones lie around the building.
