Khachkars at Saghmosavank
Two khachkars, traditional Armenian carved stone crosses, on the grounds of the Saghmosavank monastery complex. The left khachkar is framed by an arched stone niche with an inscription below it, while the right one stands on a high pedestal next to the church wall.
Saghmosavank is a 13th-century Armenian monastery complex in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia, on the edge of the Kasakh River gorge. The monastery was founded in 1215 by Prince Vache Vachutian. The complex is known for its Church of Surb Sion (Holy Zion) and for one of the rarest book depositories in Armenia.
