A brown bear in the Khosrov Forest reserve

The Ministry of Environment of Armenia has published unique footage from the Khosrov Forest State Reserve. The photograph shows a brown bear, a species listed in the Red Book of Armenia.

The brown bear’s body reaches 2 metres in length and it can weigh up to 300 kilograms. It is a true giant and one of the symbols of Armenia’s wildlife.

The bear is walking along a grassy slope covered with flowers. Behind it is a rocky cliff, and on the left there are distant mountains.
