Astrophysicist Gagik Ter-Kazaryan
The Armenian astrophysicist Dr Gagik Ter-Kazaryan has solved a problem that had remained unsolved since 1915 within Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity: how to define and calculate the relative velocity of a test body with respect to an observer in curved spacetime.
He works at the Viktor Ambartsumian Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory. His solution includes the definition of the so-called “kinetic recession velocity” of astronomical objects, and it is proved that these velocities always remain below the speed of light in a vacuum, which preserves the principle of causality.
