Lazar Lazarian
Lazar Lazarian was one of the organizers of the resettlement of Armenians from Persia to Eastern Armenia (the Armenian Province) and a member of the wealthy Armenian merchant family of the Lazarians. His father, Hovakim Lazarian, founded a school for Armenian children in Saint Petersburg, which later became the Lazarian Institute of Oriental Languages.
In the photograph he stands in a suit, waistcoat and bow tie, one foot on a stool. Beside him is a portrait of a woman in a richly carved frame, and below it an oval picture of two women.
