Sose Mayrik and Drastamat Kanayan in Cairo
The photograph shows Sose Mayrik, widow of Serob Aghbyur, and Drastamat Kanayan, Minister of War of the First Republic of Armenia and one of its commanders. It was taken in Cairo in the mid-20th century.
Sose Mayrik wears a black headscarf and glasses; she leans on a walking stick with one hand and holds Kanayan's arm with the other. Kanayan wears a suit, a tie and a long overcoat. Behind them is a door with an ornamental grille, and on the right stands a man with a white cloth wrapped around his head.
Sose Mayrik's remains rest in Bash-Aparan, and those of Drastamat Kanayan at Yerablur.
