The castle at Akhtala, early 20th century
The castle at Akhtala. It was built by the well-known businessman Aramyants so that his sick daughter could recover in the open countryside. The photograph dates from the early 20th century.
The two-storey building has a round tower with a tall pointed top. In the upper part of the tower is an open gallery with a wooden railing, and a group of people stands on the lower balcony. The roof edges are decorated with carved wood; in front of the building are a fence and young trees.
