An Armenian Family from Kars

An Armenian family from Kars, Eastern Armenia.

This is a studio family portrait of 10 people. In the centre sits an elderly bearded man holding a walking stick and prayer beads, with an elderly woman in a headscarf beside him. At the sides sit 2 women in national costume with headdresses, veils and necklaces. Behind them stand 3 young men in suits, one of them holding a baby. In front are 2 small children, and rugs cover the floor.
