Armenian refugee children in Palestine, 1918

Armenian refugee children in Palestine who were being helped by the American Red Cross. The photograph is dated December 1918.

Dozens of children have gathered in a courtyard. The youngest sit in front on the stone paving, and the older ones stand behind. Most of the children wear simple clothes, some of them checked or striped. In the centre, among the children, stands a woman in a long white dress. Tall trees rise in the background.
