Mother-heroine Bavakan Hakobyan with her family

The photograph shows mother-heroine Bavakan Hakobyan surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was taken in 1986 in the Armenian SSR by photographer A. Zhigalov.

A large group of people is arranged on a staircase and on the gallery above, along a wooden banister. On the left are mostly women and children, on the right men in suits, and in the centre an elderly woman in a headscarf. Different generations are gathered in the frame, from little children to adults, united by the strength and memory of one family.
