Eduardo Seferian, Argentine-Armenian businessman and benefactor
Eduardo Seferian was an Argentine businessman and benefactor, owner of the textile company Tipoití and founder of the football club Deportivo Tipoití. Although his mother was English, the family always spoke Armenian out of respect for his grandmother, who knew no other language.
Seferian was an active figure in the Armenian community: for 25 years he headed the Armenian Centre of the Argentine Republic, and he supported Armenia’s independence. He died on 19 February 2015 and was posthumously declared an honorary citizen of the city of Corrientes.
The photograph shows an elderly man with glasses in a dark pinstriped suit and a striped tie.
