Teodoros Rshtuni

Teodoros Rshtuni was an Armenian military commander and statesman. He fought for Armenia's independence from the Eastern Roman Empire and Sasanian Persia. The Arabs appointed him supreme ruler of Armenia, Georgia and Caucasian Albania.

The picture is a book illustration captioned “Teodoros Rshtuni”. The commander is shown with a pointed helmet, armour and a red cloak, holding a spear, with a sword hanging from his belt.
