Armenian man with a traditional instrument, 1903

An Armenian man with a traditional musical instrument. The photograph dates from 1903.

The moustached man, in a tall fur hat and a long chokha, sits on a sofa holding a string instrument. Beside him is an ornate table with a vase. The caption on the postcard, in Russian and French, reads “Armenian with a sazandar” and “Types of the Caucasus”.
