Statue of Trdat I, King of Greater Armenia
The Roman-style statue depicts Trdat I, King of Greater Armenia (AD 62–88), founder of the Arsacid royal house. The white stone statue stands on a pedestal among trees. The king is bearded and wears a cap, a long garment and a cloak hanging from his shoulder, with his arms folded in front of his body.
His reign was marked by the struggle between Rome and Parthia and by the strengthening of Armenian statehood.
