Chest with an Armenian inscription at a market in Caesarea
This chest is being sold at an antiques market in Caesarea (Kayseri). It bears an Armenian inscription.
The chest is made of wood. Its front is decorated with plant patterns and two round rosettes, and in the centre there is a framed panel with Armenian letters. The upper band also carries Armenian letters and numbers.
More than 100 years have passed, yet Turks continue to sell property looted from Armenians during and after the genocide of 1915.
