Kumash Khachatryan, mother of the world-famous composer Aram Khachaturian. The photograph was taken in Tiflis (Tbilisi) in the 1910s.

The woman wears a decorated band across her forehead, from which a white veil falls over her head and shoulders. Her long dark hair falls to her shoulders, and the collar of her dark dress is trimmed with white lace.
