Christ crowning Emperor Constantine VII
The picture shows a Byzantine ivory plaque depicting the coronation of Emperor Constantine VII by Christ. Christ, with a halo, places his hand on the emperor's crown, symbolising divine approval of his rule. The inscriptions on the plaque are in Greek. According to the source, it is kept in the Louvre in Paris.
The source states that in the 9th–10th centuries Arab historians called Byzantium “the Armenian state”, because about 20 Byzantine emperors were Armenian. The list begins with Maurice (Morik Oshakantsi, 582–602) and ends with Michael VI (1056–1057), and it includes Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus (913–959). By the source's count, they ruled for 475 years.
