Hamshen Armenians who settled in the Kuban
This old photograph shows a group of Hamshen Armenians who migrated from Turkey to the Kuban and Black Sea provinces in the early 20th century. According to the source, they are probably brothers or friends from the same family.
There are five men in the picture, two seated and three standing. All wear fur hats (papakhas) and shirts with stand-up collars. Some wear jackets, and their trousers are tucked into high boots. The seated man on the right wears a waistcoat under his jacket.
The photograph is part of the cultural heritage of the Hamshen Armenians, who lived in the Caucasus, including the Kuban and the Black Sea coast.
