Jahangir Agha

Jahangir Agha was a Yazidi who entered Armenian history as a true hero. In 1918, during the days of the Battle of Bash-Aparan, when the fate of our whole people was being decided, he and his Yazidi horsemen stood shoulder to shoulder with the Armenian soldiers. His detachment fought the Turks on an equal footing with the Armenian units, showing courage and loyalty.

The portrait shows a man with a moustache, wearing a tall dark fur hat and a dark uniform with shoulder straps.
